Professional practitioners, students or previously active professional designers can be accepted as members.

When applying, you need to be able to show either a degree from a recognized education (or study certificate for student membership), or that you work in a professional position in the field of design - as an employee or entrepreneur - with documented professional qualifications through a CV and portfolio.

The association also welcomes company members operating in the design industry and networks/organizations/actors that contribute to promoting design.

Sweden's Designers Riksorganisation's membership fee for practitioners is 150 SEK/month. Students and senior members pay a reduced fee of 25 resp. 50 SEK per month. Company members pay a membership fee from 300 SEK per month depending on the size of the organization.

Sveriges Designers Riksorganisation will work to improve the professional conditions for its members as well as the entire industry. The organization's mission is to create favorable conditions for designers to successfully practice their profession, increase understanding of their expertise and professional role, and serve as a clear voice for the Swedish design community both in Sweden and internationally.

Sveriges Designers Riksorganisation will strive to raise the status of the design profession, ensure that it remains an attractive career choice for young people and ensure that designers can make a living from their skills.
